What a superb event at Michael Cusack Centre in the Burren, with the welcoming of former President of Ireland Mary McAleese as honorary patron. Ms McAleese spoke of the connection between Michael Cusack and her own home Co. Down, where his wife Imelda had come from, as well of the huge importance of the GAA here in Ireland and all over the world. Well done to Tim Madden and the team at the centre for facilitating such a great day!

This Sunday we will be running the Cafe Hatch at The Burren Slow Food Festival in Lisdoonvarna.

Of course, we will be bringing along the Burren Tea Room Classics of our Homemade Scones and Homemade Jams, plus we will be bringing along a selection of new Cake and Tart offerings… like this delicious Pear and Ricotta Cake!

There’ll be talks and stalls, and yoga and wellness… and it looks like the ☀️ will still be with us too!

Super shuttle service starting tomorrow in North Clare, with the Burren & Cliffs Explorer! If you are planning to visit the Burren this summer, be sure to avail of this option. Park in one of the local villages and take the free hop on-hop off service, enjoy the scenery and get free access to the Cliffs of Moher!

The free Burren and Cliffs Explorer is a joint initiative by Clare County Council and the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) and is available for online bookings.*

*Running as a pilot project from May 1 to August 31 — with the possibility of an extension into September — the service links destinations including Ballyvaughan. Corofin, Carran, Kilfenora, Doolin, Liscannor, and Lahinch. It also stops at key hubs like Lisdoonvarna and Miltown Malbay, where free parking is available. Passengers have easy access to some of the region’s best-known attractions, with the service stopping off at the Burren National Park, the Cliffs of Moher Experience, Aillwee Burren Experience, Poulnabrone, Michael Cusack Heritage Centre, The Burren Visitor Centre, and Caherconnell Stone Fort & Sheepdog Demonstrations.*

Despite the rain yesterday afternoon, brave volunteers turned out in Doolin to give the place a spring clean, including members of the community and representatives from Aloha Surf School, Fanore, Co.Clare, Ireland , Doolin Ferry Co , Sheedy's Doolin , Wild Atlantic Seaweed Baths and Cliffs of Moher Experience . Thanks to Doolin Inn for hosting us. It was a great way to mark Eirkd Earth Day this week and as always, many hands make light work!
