It is a historic occasion for Irish Rugby at the Dexcom Stadium this Saturday as Galway hosts in the Women’s Six Nations for the very first time.
Ireland are back on home soil to face Italy in their second match of the 2026 Guinness Women’s Six Nations.
Everyone at John P. Keogh and Sons would especially like to congratulate Irelands vice-captain who has very strong connections to Oughterard with her Mother Nora being a member of the famous sporting Clancy family from Glann and her uncle Kevin and cousin Matthew having famously represented Galway at inter county level and together with Paddy Matt, Conrad, William and other family members being legends of the Oughterard football team. Fiona’s Grand Uncle the great Cu**in Clancy was an Olympian who famously represented Ireland in the 1948 Olympics in the Discus. It is a great honour for Oughterard to have Fiona represent Ireland at the highest level. We wish Fiona the very best of luck at the Dexcom stadium against Italy! Shoulder to shoulder they will cruise to victory!
