County Sligo Golf Club at Rosses Point is one of Irelandās great traditional championship links courses. Originally designed by Harry C**t, it offers a more classic and flatter links experience compared to the dramatic dunes of Carne Golf Links. But flatter does not mean easier. Atlantic winds constantly influence club selection and shot-making, while the stunning backdrop of Benbulben mountain creates one of the most scenic rounds in Ireland.
Off the course, Sligo town adds hugely to the experience. The pub culture is vibrant, welcoming, and full of personality. After golf, golfers gather for pints of Guinness, fresh seafood, live traditional music, and stories about missed putts and miracle escapes from deep bunkers. Designed by Eddie Hackett, Carne rises through enormous natural dunes that create one of the most exciting and visually spectacular golf experiences in Ireland. Fairways twist through giant dunes, blind shots appear unexpectedly, and every hole feels like an adventure.
Belmulletās pub scene perfectly finishes the day. After battling the Atlantic winds at Carne, there is nothing better than stepping into a lively local pub filled with music, laughter, and fellow golfers sharing stories from the course.
