Our Story

Race & Stay™ was originally formed in 2012 in association with The Curragh Racecourse to deliver a complete Hotel, Transport and Racing package to the many National and International guests wanting to come racing in Ireland. Starting with small numbers of guests we quickly grew and we are now the Largest and the Premier Horse Racing Tour Company in Ireland, and the Only Approved Guest Management Partner for many Irish Racecourses looking after over 6,000 happy guests each year. These are exciting times for us, 10 years in business now and 2022 and beyond look very bright with already a near full order book for some events. We have recruited more staff and strengthened our management team, the original staff and management are all still here, they, along with a few new additions will enhance what we do and help us deliver the best guest service possible into the future.

A massive thank you from us all at Race and Stay to the management and staff from Mannok Build who booked a Corporate Race Day package with us yesterday. We hope you enjoyed the whole experience from arrival with teas, coffees and pastries to the Preview show hosted by the excellent Dave Jennings, the racing at Punchestown where you took the whole Corinthian Restaurant, Dinner last night and your overnight stay at Lawlors Hotel. You were an absolute pleasure to look after and we hope to see you all again very soon.

Remarkable !! Gavin Cromwell and Keith Donoghue have done it again in one of the world's toughest races, The Velka Pardubicka. Little Final Orders belied his size and scope to take this valuable prize, defeating a previous winner, and making it two wins from two for Gavin and Keith, with Stumptown winning last year.

Well done Gavin and all the staff in Danestown, County Meath, we are all very proud of you.

An incredible weekend of racing coming up. One of our favorite horses PURVIEW runs in the valuable Canadian International at Woodbine tonight (10:30 GMT). We have had the pleasure of several stable visits, lunch and gallops days with master Irish Trainer Dermot Weld this year and Purview is one of his leading lights. From us all at Race and Stay we wish Dermot, Chris Hayes and all the staff at Rosewell House the very best of luck today.

Sunday sees the quality action switch to Paris Longchamp for the Prix de Larc where Juddmonte may have another Group 1 winner with Kalpana in action. Although it is probably the most open Arc in recent years. For the rest of Longchamp you can never discount Aidan O'Brien popping in a few winners over the weekend.

Juddmonte may even have a Group 1 treble as top c**t Blue Bolt takes on a field of 7 others for the prestigious Sun Chariot stakes at Newmarket. He should win at the odds on show!

The Guinness Kerry National today at Listowel features one of the best line ups we have seen for this race in many a year. The betting, as usual is skewed towards Gordon Elliott (with just one representative) and Willie Mullins (who runs 6) but this for me seems a very open race with a mix of established and future stars lining up.

Unusually for a "National" this is a quick version over just 3 miles and only 15 fences. This may well suit the younger generation but I still have a sneaking suspicion that some of the more established ones will sneak into a place at a good price. Percival Legalloise and French Dynamite for instance. Anyway, whatever your fancy for the race it will be a good one. If you havent been to Listowel, make it one of your trips next year. A true old style festival with a great mix of flat and jumps racing over seven days.

Sad to hear of the passing of one of Ireland's favorite horses yesterday. RIP Hurricance Fly, one of the best hurdlers of our generation. From 32 starts over hurdles he won 24 times, with 22 of those constituting a record for the number of Grade 1s won and a flawless ten from ten at Leopardstown, where he was, quite literally, unbeatable. After retirement he joined the ranks of the Living Legends at The Irish National Stud where he was a big attraction and became one of the favorite horses for our guests to visit. He loved carrotts and was, unlike his racing days, very friendly and docile. Thanks for the memories The Fly. You will be sadly missed.
