A very sad day here as we learn of the passing of one of Irelands most beloved horses. Galopin des Champs was not just a racehorse he was a legend. 12 Grade 1 wins and an attitude that was so sweet with all who had the pleasure to meet him.
For those of us who had the opportunity to not only see him race but visit him at Closutton, see him on the gallops and in his stable we were blessed. Our deepest sympathies to Adam Connolly, his groom who helped shape his lovely demeanor and racing career, to all the staff at Closutton, Willie, Patrick and all. and of course to the proud owners the Turley family. He will be sady missed.

A fabulous day at the The Curragh Racecourse this weekend for the Pat Smullen Charity race. A fantastic event that always raises a ton of money for Pancreatic Cancer research. Well done to all that took part.

Great information and good craic at the Race and Stay preview show yesterday in the Aviary at the fabulous The Connacht Hotel, Galway.

A fabulous few weeks coming up: Killarney Festival from next Monday for 4 days in the Kingdom. Then its on to the mighty Galway Festival from 27th July - 2nd August and with a few race days in August with large groups we return with a bang for the top-quality Irish Champions Festival in September.
