Our Buhler colour sorter gives our mill exceptional control at grain intake. Each cereal has a specific programme which is fine-tuned by our team for ultimate performance. They also maintain the machines - changing sieves etc etc - to ensure consistent quality.

And, of course, Rob is on hand to make sure that every load of grain gets tested on arrival to the mill to ensure quality flour in every bag.

Every step of the way, the Little Mill team works together to make sure our customers - you! - get the best ingredients!

We are delighted to use native grain, highlighting how local rye brings a unique flavour and texture to everything from hearty sourdoughs to traditional soda breads.

We use locally grown olands wheat which we brought in to plant from Denmark 10 years ago. Our neighbouring farmer Tom Butler grows it.

After it’s harvested, it’s brought in and we mill it into the wheatflour - which is then used to bake the most wonderful bread!

For us, it’s the ideal way to produce the best-tasting bread!

This is what it’s all about for us at The Little Mill!

This is spelt being planted in Callan, Co Kilkenny by farmer Will Gabbett - not very far from The Littel Mill.

We have had to double our planting area to meet new demand this season! Which is just great to see! Demand for local produce from local farmers!

It’s a wonderful milestone today. Let’s keep it going: Irish grown, milled and baked!

BIG NEWS!!! We at The Little Mill are delighted to announce that we have milled our first ever batch of Irish-grown Organic Light Rye Flour.

We have done this with the amazin help of a few amazing farmers - you know who you are!

We are now officially approved to mill organic flour. 🌾

A small step . . . but a very very exciting one!

Nothing quite like the aroma of freshly baked bread. 🌾✨🌾

With our Little Mill Strong Seeded Wholemeal Flour, we have added a gorgeous recipe on the back of the packet for a Seeded Brown Soda Bread with Honey & Sea Salt.

It is easy to follow, requires only a few ingredients and produces the most wonderful bread!
