At a time when Mayo Co Council Director of Services only managed to build 5 social housing units his call for boycott of Self-catering and Holiday Homes rings hollow Some Cllrs are stepping back from this proposal - but the ISCF strongly defends the right of property owners. https://iscf.ie/join-us/
Must send him a copy of the ESRI report (https://www.esri.ie/system/files/publications/RS208.pdf) which states that Self-catering did not cause housing crisis or are not the solution. Sort your planning allowing for farm families to build on own land, for people to build in rural areas, and of course the Planning Guidelines for STR are still not published.
Mayo has a lot of self-catering due to the visionary of Enda Kenny when Min. for Tourism , who understod the economic benefits, employment provided and important to remote rural areas of Mayo.
