Visit Innisfallen Island Innisfallen Island is 1.5 km from Ross Castle, a monastery was founded here in 640 AD making it older than the monastery on Skellig Michael.

Ruins of a 12th century Priory & Romanesque Church are still on the Island today.

Innisfallen Island is a beautiful island just 1.5km from Ross Castle in the heart of Killarney National Park. This enchanting island was once home to a monastery dating back to 640 AD founded by St Finian the L***r. The island was a place of solitude for the monks to reflect and pray.
