A remarkable piece of Killarney’s history comes home to Ireland.
This week, the Annals of Innisfallen go on display at the Glucksman Library in UCC — bringing one of Ireland’s most important medieval historical manuscripts into the spotlight.
Written by monks on Inisfallen Island, overlooking the Lakes of Killarney, the Annals record events in Ireland and beyond from the earliest centuries of Irish history through the medieval period.
For us at Ross Castle Boat Tours, Innisfallen is much more than an island on the lake. Every day, we bring visitors across the water to a place where people have been recording, learning and living for centuries.
To think that the words written by those monks on this small island are still being studied and admired today is truly remarkable.
From the monks of Innisfallen to the visitors of today — the story continues.

Great to see Water Hens at Reen Pier.

RCBT remembering nice water levels at the Old Weir Bridge on the way to the Gap of Dunloe. Jack got off light, not having to pull the boat, as the water levels were just right. Water level has dropped now with the good weather. Still an adventure of a lifetime.
