At the back of Dolly’s cottage is ‘Queen Maeve’s Trail’ it follows a well constructed path way up to her burial site or cairn on top of Knocknarea on the Coolera peninsula.

Maeve was Beautiful, a warrior and Queen of Connaught for 60 years. It is said she is buried upright in facing her enemies in Ulster!

‘Scattery Island’ is benefiting from a lot of attention this winter 👏 👏 The Village streetscape & 2 cottages has been totally renovated! The 6th Century Monuments are always well looked after. This amount of cars on Cappa Pier means Great activity on The Island! Plan that trip to the Island with or Island tours.
