A new photography exhibition is coming to Ballinamore this September 📸

Cultural Similitudes by acclaimed photographer Laura Jean Zito opens at Solas Art Gallery on Friday, 11 September at 7.30pm.

Bringing together powerful photographs from Ireland and the Sinai Desert in Egypt, the exhibition explores the connections between cultures and communities shaped by tradition, resilience and change.

The exhibition runs from 11 September to 9 October at Solas Art Gallery, Island Theatre, Ballinamore.

The 54th Irish Hot Air Balloon Championships takes place from the 19th-25th September in
Lough Key Forest & Activity Park just across the border in Co Roscommon! 🎈 🎊

In 2026 the event will be celebrating its 54th year and it will take place as usual in the last week of September with flights planned morning (7am) and evening (5:00pm) for the week, weather permitting.

Balloons, Pilots and Crew from the US, England, Scotland, Wales, France, Germany and Ireland will participate in a week of challenges to find who will be declared the Champions. Find out more here: https://www.ballooningchampionships.ie/
