Good morning from Connemara☘🐎☘
The Connemara Pony.
The Connemara region in County Galway in western Ireland, where the breed first became recognised as a distinct type, is a very harsh landscape, thus giving rise to a pony breed of hardy, strong individuals.

Imagine waking up in this fairytale castle!! 🏰🌞☘

Doonagore Castle is a private residence, a circular tower dating from the 16th century. It stands roughly 1 km south of the coastal village of Doolin in County Clare, Ireland. The castle’s name is thought to come from the Irish Dún na Gabhair, which can be translated as either “fort of the rounded hills” or “fort of the goats.”

The wilds of Donegal.
Errigal Mountain rises sharply from the fabric of the Donegal Gaeltacht. Standing at 751 metres above the Wild Atlantic Ocean, it is the highest mountain in County Donegal and a powerful landmark for the Irish language communities below. Its clean, conical shape dominates the landscape, visible from large parts of Ulster. Climbers follow a steep but rewarding path, offering magnificent and sweeping views of islands, lakes, bog land, and of course the mighty Atlantic. Sunrise and sunset are simply stunning. Errigal feels ancient and alive, shaped by ice, weather, and story, anchoring culture, memory, the native tounge and the wild beauty of Irelans's north west.
Wher will your journey take you next???

Beannachaí na Cásca oraibh ☘️

The Ray Cross, standing at Ray Church in County Donegal, is one of the tallest and most striking early medieval high crosses in Ireland. Thought to date back to the 7th or 8th century, it reflects the rich spiritual and artistic traditions of early Irish Christianity which was inspired by the monastic legacy of St. Colmcille and his mission that stretched from Donegal to Iona, Scotland.

Carved from a single slab of sandstone, the cross features intricate patterns symbolic of eternity and faith. Despite the ravages of time, its enduring presence continues to inspire awe. According to local tradition, the cross was broken and buried during the 17th century to protect it from destruction during the campaigns of Oliver Cromwell, whose forces targeted religious icons and Catholic heritage across Ireland.

Rediscovered and re-erected in the 18th century, the Ray Cross now stands as a powerful symbol of resilience—an echo of a sacred past that survived conflict, conquest, and centuries of silence.

There's just something about rainbows that's like magic ....and here's a wonderful hocus pocus image captured at the Glencolmcille Folk Village in the Gaeltacht region of South West Donegal. 🪄🌈

The Folk Village Museum is a cluster of several small cottages, called a ‘clachan’, perched on a hillside overlooking the sandy curve of Glen Bay Beach.

Each cottage is an exact replica of a dwelling used by the local people in each of the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries and is equipped with the furniture, artifacts and utensils of its particular period. A reconstructed school house, fisherman’s dwelling and tiny pub-grocer offer additional insights into rural Irish life in one of the most remote corners of the country.

Visitors can wander at leisure through the Village, or join one of our excellent guided tours. Take a look at how our ancestors lived, cooked, the beds they lay on, the tools they used, their means of lighting and heat. Learn how they developed rich traditions in music, dance and crafts despite the material hardships of daily life. ☘
