Happy 2026. As Ireland is known as one of the countries with the least woodland is Europe, you need to put in a little work to find the pockets of native temperature rainforest that once occupied 80% of the island. In the most unexpected places though, you'll find the moss, fern, common woodrush, bluebell, brier, hawthorn, hazel and rowan battling for survival in all its beauty.

I thoroughly enjoyed the fantastic company I had along the Inishowen Peninsula Private Day Tour on Monday. It was great learning about traditional life there from Pat Doherty and seeing seagulls chasing peregrine falcons at Ireland’s most northerly point was incredible. continued to impress with their seafood chowder and was looking incredible in the sunshine.
