Check out our recent Marine Wildlife Trip, what an incredible day on the water. π¦ π¬
1. Heading out into Di**le Bay in a lazy swell.
2. This Cliff face is approx 400 million years old, these Cliffs formed near the equator and began as desert sands, they were pushed north through millions of years of seismic activity.
3. The return of the puffins, these popular sea birds are returning to nest and reproduce, and can often be seen bobbing on the water around certain areas of the Blasket Islands.
4. Puffins and Razorbills. The other bird in the shot is from the same family as the puffin, the razorbill is equally fascinating and they actually lay their eggs directly onto the cliff edge.
5. The Grey Seal colony of the Blasket Islands, is one of the largest groups of these animals found in Ireland. An apex predator here, they can be seen lounging during the afternoon time.
6. The Cathedral Rocks, part of the Blaskets, get their name for their resemblance to a large gothic cathedral. Also an excellent habitat for seabirds species.
7. Heading to deeper water.
8. Mom and baby, these common dolphins appeared as soon as we headed west. The calf was quite curious of the boat, often circling back to us.
9. News travels fast, soon we were surrounded by multiple Common Dolphins, eager to bow ride and surf the wake of the boat.
10. These speedsters stayed with us for quite some time, breaking and frolicking in the water around us.
What a day!
A huge thanks to for getting us out there and we are very much looking forward to the next one.
Who knows what we might see. π
