If this highway looks like a runway, it's because it is. Highway airstrips in Cuba were established for real wartime use, a practice adopted from the Soviet Union, and a lesson of the "Bay Pigs" invasion attempt. They are stretches of roadways (usually national highways) that can also be used by military aircraft. is explaining about a large Soviet military base visible on the right hand side 🇨🇺

Tel Aviv has nightlife and food to rival the best of them, and you will explore all aspects, both modern and historical. Over the course of 8-days you will travel to Jerusalem, Hebron, extremely close to the Gaza strip, the Golan Heights and Tel Aviv.

We will explore the West Bank including the divided flashpoint of Hebron, the streets and atmosphere are as intense as you would expect. You probably have not imagined having coffee and cake atop a volcano in the Golan Heights with a clear view into Syria, but that’s exactly why we will go. The Israeli Special Forces are recognised for their focus and efficiency, we will take part in a counter terrorism training exercise with them in Tel Aviv. We are talking staged kidnappings and fi****ms here!

The food alone in Israel is something you need to try once in your life, the people are also great. This tour is our typical mix of history, politics/conflict, society, food, drink. We cannot wait for this one. As an option, this tour can be combined with our 2nd Northern Cyprus Tour of 2020 that finishes on November 28th. Larnaca is 1-hour direct to Tel Aviv.

We have found that one of the best resources for information on travelling inside the EU is the website/app reopen.europa.eu 🛄 Select your country of interest from the dropdown menu. The info there is updated pretty quickly in line with any changes at borders 🖼️
