Fantastic to see local contractors doing up the castle. Now the roads being closed to one lane to facilitate weeding. Exciting times ahead. Saturday.

Latest update. Before the papers and anyone else takes credit. cosmetic work will begin in two weeks. A structural video scan will be done on the walls. Weeds will be removed. So success thus far. Let's keep them to their word. 2 million was promised.

2.5 million. We don't need that amount. A political promise that way overspends what we actually need. No wonder children's hospital is over budget. Ardee castle can be open to the public with a quarter of that budget available and much quicker, and it can be self sufficient.

Great announcements this evening. I'm sure if you look into it correctly, it'll be millions over a five year period, forgot about after elections. Not believing. Seeing is believing. They can't remove a fence for three years. I hope it's true but I'm sceptical on this announcement.

So we've gone across the border for consultants. More funds leaving our country and wasted by our County Council and political representatives. Disgrace. Something has to change.

I'm disillusioned, angry and upset. All this talk about construction. Our castle has been constructed for nearly 900 years. It hasn't fallen. Money earmarked to upkeep it has continually been misplaced. The sign on the hideous fence even says under construction. It doesn't need construction. It needs tlc and opening. Elbow grease is not construction.
