A few hours on the bay with Kervin and his family and friends this evening.
Mackerel bashing to start with and then on anchor for a while.
Bottom fishing proved very quiet with only one thornback ray landed.
But that's fishing for ya!

Plenty Po***ck on the feed today out west.
Also boated were mackerel, Poutting, Whitting, grey gurnard, Tub gurnard, lance, scad, Coalfish, and a stray herring.

A great afternoon on the bay with the crew from Western Care.
Plenty mackerel and a few Po***ck on board today, and after all the hard work it was time for a cuppa and a sandwich.

Great craic on the bay yesterday with the Moran cousins.
Plenty mackerel coming over the gunwale kept us all amused.

Concerned Newport residents gathered outside the Uisce Éireann Castlebar offices on Monday July 14, to protest against repeated delays to a long-promised sewage treatment plant.

I was delighted to attend the meeting this morning at the office of Uisce Éireann Irish Water in castlebar with members of the Newport community, and local representatives, where the disappointment and frustration in the constant lack of progress on the treatment plant for Newport was relayed to three representatives of Uisce Eireann
We as a community have been lobbying for a treatment plant for as long as I care to remember, so hopefully today's opinions won't fall on deaf ears!

A busy day on the Atlantic today with the lad's from Mullingar, Athlone and Meath.
Way too busy for taking pictures, but I managed one of David O'Malley, the man providing the people of the midlands and beyond with fishing tackle and much more.
