Please note: the IRONMAN TRIATHLON takes place in East Cork, between Midleton and Youghal, this Saturday (19 August) and Sunday (20 August). There will be TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS in operation throughout East Cork.
Restricted access to lower Main Street in Midleton and into Youghal Town.
Visitors to Midleton Distillery (Jameson) should enter the town from Lakeview Roundabout on the N25 and drive down St Mary's Road (passing the church).
There are also restrictions on the minor roads linking both towns. Cloyne, Ballycotton, East Ferry, Saleen, Whitegate, Aghada, Ladysbridge, Ballymacoda, Garryvoe, Ballymaloe, Shanagarry, Dungourney and other areas are also affected.
The GOOD NEWS is that the N25 road is OPEN. This is the main road between Cork and Waterford, through Castlemartyr and Killeagh.

****IMPORTANT NOTICE****
‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
It is with the utmost regret that we have to cancel the 2023 st Patrick’s day parade.

Following todays crisis meeting of the committee we have been left with no choice but to cancel the parade.

We have not received enough participants for the parade.
We also have not received sufficient sponsorship to cover our increased costs this year.
But most importantly, we have not received enough volunteers to steward at road closure points and along the parade route.
This means we have no other choice, particularly from a health and safety aspect, we have to cancel this years parade.

We are absolutely devastated, this parade is for the kids and we work so hard every year to make this the best day for them all, so we are so sorry we have to cancel.

But we simply cannot run the parade this year. It’s impossible.

Thanks to everyone that helped us so far.

A wonderful review of Castlemartyr Resort and East Cork!

West Cork is one of the most famous holiday destinations, firmly on every Ireland travel itinerary going. You’d be hard pushed to find a visitor to the south of the country who doesn’t have it on their list. But there’s a pretender to the west Cork crown, one that those in the know have been whispering about for years and is very much being talked about loudly now.

East Cork is, many believe, about to become home to the fifth two-star Michelin restaurant in the country, and the first in Cork. Terre is the hotly tipped restaurant and it’s in the five-star Castlemartyr resort I stayed at on a weekend visit last year.
