Please read ‼️ Enjoy the sunshine ☀️
During this continued spell of good weather, we remind all those using the facilities at Emy Lake of the following:
🌊 Do not tamper with or remove lifesaving buoys and equipment, as they play a critical role in ensuring the safety of swimmers. Interfering with lifesaving equipment can put yours and others' lives at risk.
🚸 It is crucial to supervise children in or near water. Having a responsible adult present is essential for their safety.
🤽♀️ Inflatable water toys can drift away in open water, leading to dangerous situations, so please avoid bringing them.
🌡 Even on sunny days, water temperatures can remain cold. Swimming in cold water can lead to rapid muscle cooling, making it harder to swim and stay afloat, so please be mindful of this.
🏊♂️ It is important to swim in water that is appropriate for your swimming abilities, so stay within a depth where you can comfortably touch the bottom and regain your footing if necessary. Swimming alone can be hazardous, as there is no one available to provide assistance or seek help in an emergency.
⛔️ Never swim while consuming alcohol as it impairs judgement, coordination, and reaction time, increasing the risk of accidents and drowning.
Finally, our local lake at Emy is an amenity that is enjoyed by all, so please be considerate of others. Always bring your litter and recyclables home and leave it as you would like to find it. ♻️🚮🌱
