The winter solstice event at Newgrange was streamed live today. If you missed it, you can watch it here. 5,200 years ago this Mega lithic passage tomb was constructed to illuminate the inner chamber down a 60ft passage into the mound- at dawn on the shortest day of the year- and uniquely- the light shone in via the light box over the door.
