Midlands Ireland Hello, my name is Nicola Dalton. So I truly understand how tough things can get at times.

I work in county Westmeath as a private International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. I am interested in helping mums achieve their personal breastfeeding goals, and will do what I can to help you achieve your personal goal with breastfeeding. We all need a little help sometimes, I know this only too well as a mum of four. I have had my own ups and downs with my own breastfeeding journeys an

d know from experience that sometimes a little help and support can go a long way. If it were not for the wonderful support and help with breastfeeding I received with my babies, I may not have enjoyed my breastfeeding experiences and may never have taken this wonderful career path. There's nothing wrong with asking for a little help, even when it’s not your first baby. Breastfeeding is a new skill for both you and your baby and like all new skills, it's going to takes a little time to master. Each of my little ones brought their own little individual challenges. Sometimes all we need is a kind word, a gentle suggestion, or a subtle adjustment with position and attachment to return to that smooth enjoyable journey.

So we all know the numerous benefits for baby when they receive breastmilk, but do mums know that there are lifelong health benefits in it for them too?

Breastfeeding is not only good for children, but also for their mothers, providing more health benefits and preventing more maternal diseases than previously known, new research shows.

Happy world breastfeeding week!
Here's a sneak peek of the next generation of Breastfeeding mama's. It's so important to let kid's see how breastfeeding is beautiful and normal. They learn so young what's normal, and they instinctualy know just what to do!

Enjoy xx

Good information for mums and Dads.

Babies’ sleep location and some baby-care practices have long been associated with risk of harm – including unexpected death. Many moms feel guilty for nursing their baby to sleep. Nursing your baby to sleep is not a bad thing to do! It's very normal and developmentally appropriate for babies to nurse to sleep and to wake 1-3 times during the night for the first year or so. Some babies don't do this, but they are the excep…
