Jack Keeshan on guitar and vocals and accompanied by his partner Edel Pender on harmonica got Sunday night’s proceedings under way for the last night of the Finns Folk Club Annual Folk Festival.
Coming in somewhere between Billy Bragg and Bruce Springsteen they soon had the capacity audience with them. Playing a set of original self penned songs their perfect mix of music and stories found them a new group of fans. A big thanks to Joe for giving young talent a venue to showcase their music

The 4 Of US brought Finns Folk Club 2nd Annual Folk Festival to a Funkyfolk Finale last Sunday night. Folk purists may throw an eye or two to heaven but everyone left Finns Folk Club last Sunday night with smiles on their face.
Brendan Murphy’s voice carried a rich, heartfelt warmth throughout the night—pure and expressive. Each lyric seemed to resonate deeply, delivering stories that lingered well beyond the final chords.
Declan’s guitar work was nothing short of masterful—nuanced, fluid, and captivating. His acoustic guitar danced alongside Brendan’s voice, carving melodies that felt both intricate and effortlessly natural. The interplay between voice and guitar made every moment feel intentional and alive
Despite being a “two‑man show,” the energy was anything but stripped-back. There was a wonderful synergy between the performers: the room felt full from their presence alone. Brendan’s engaging banter—never forced—added lightness, making the evening feel personal and communal. It had the sense of friends gathered around a fire sharing stories in song
The set likely leaned into both their classic material and recent acoustic-driven tracks—think soulful staples like Mary, along with newer gems from Sugar Island, praised for blending “the soulful voice of Brendan against a backdrop of Declan’s stunning acoustic guitar playing” . This mix grounded the evening in both nostalgia and fresh storytelling.
This gig at Finn’s wasn’t simply a performance—it was a heartfelt narrative spun through voice and strings. Anyone tuning in would walk away feeling both soothed and invigorated. Whether you’re a longtime fan or newly discovering their sound, there’s something remarkably timeless and sincere in their delivery. A beautiful, unforgettable night.

The word Legend to me always pertained to something or someone that may or not have existed. Andy Irvine not only existed but lived ( and still does ) life to the full, contributing greatly to the Irish Folk scene for over 60 years.A founding member of Sweeney’s Men, Planxty, Patrick Street and a myriad of other Irish Folk Groups Andy brought his vast repertoire to Finns Folk Club last night for the 2nd Finns Folk Club Folk Festival. A packed house were treated to a 2hr musical trip through Andys back catalogue and his many stories. Andy Irvine not merely a legend but a true living hero of Folk Music

What a stormer of a gig in Finns Folk club last Saturday night, first up was Sabrina Dinan, a singer/songwriter from Co. Clare who is making her way back into the music scene after a long absence, beautiful heartfelt songs accompanied by her magical guitar playing. Sabrina was followed up by Luka Bloom who should not need any introduction to any fan of Irish Folk/storytelling music. Luka has only played a handful of gigs since his open heart surgery last December and anyone who was there last Saturday night came away with big satisfied smiles on their faces, another great night in Munster's best kept secret....
