The Maldives are such a popular choice for honeymooners, but finding the right island for each couple is so important. No two couples are the same and neither are the islands, so I always take time to chat things through and find out what really matters to a couple.

The Maldives are a wonderful destination in their own right, but you can also add a stopover in somewhere like Dubai, or turn it into a twin-centre adventure with Sri Lanka… there are so many beautiful options and combinations!

Yesterday I was lucky enough to experience the beautiful Virgin Voyages’ Valiant Lady, while she was in Dún Laoghaire. I was invited for a hosted tour with the Virgin team and a taste of their hospitality. The ship and the Virgin way of cruising really is so impressive in real life... stylish, fun and incredibly well thought out.

What stood out for me most was:

⭐Virgin Voyages is adults only, so the whole ship has a lovely grown‑up, laid‑back vibe with plenty of peaceful spaces to really relax.

⭐Dining is completely different to traditional cruising. There’s no “main dining room” or pay extra speciality restaurants. Instead, every restaurant is included, open to all guests, and serves high‑quality, made‑to‑order dishes. It feels much more like going out in a cool city than being on a ship.

⭐The ships are a really nice mid‑size, with around 2,500 guests - big enough for lots of choice, small enough to still feel personal.

⭐The average age of a Virgin Voyages passenger (or Sailor as they call you) is 49 years old – that’s the average, so there is a lovely mix of ages on board

Their itineraries are fantastic and often include an overnight stop to really experience a destination. They have just added the Norwegian fjords to their routes, and are really well known for Alaska and the Caribbean, as well as Europe.

I’m actually heading off on my own Virgin Voyage next month, sailing around the Greek Islands on Scarlet Lady with my hubby. I can’t wait to experience the full Virgin Voyages week‑long adventure and share more of what it’s really like on board.

Like packing for your holidays isn’t hard enough without having to bring half the kitchen! But this is the reality when you, or someone you travel with, has coeliac disease or another dietary restriction.

As a Mum of a coeliac, I get it! I know how much thought goes into every meal, every day – and that doesn’t stop when you go away. It's usually worse!

From researching restaurants and airline meals to making sure there are safe snacks for days out, it takes a lot more planning when you or your child can’t just “eat anything”.
