Did you know that the world’s largest private collection of diecast model aircraft is here in Shannon Airport? It offers a captivating journey through the evolution of aviation, showcasing an unparalleled collection of more than 1500 die-cast model aircraft meticulously amassed over many years by Limerick man, Mike Kelly, the curator behind Shannon Airport Aviation Gallery.
Mike can be found most days imparting his knowledge and enthusiasm of aviation and Shannon Airport located in 2 separate galleries. His book, 'Pulling Back the Clouds' not only tells Mike’s story but it also details a time when aviation was in its infancy in Ireland. His book is available for purchase at the Shannon Airport Duty Free. The Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation G650 and G550 operated by Gainjet Ireland can be seen in the Gallery.
