The West Cork Literary Festival Opens This Evening in Bantry

The West Cork Literary Festival will officially open tomorrow evening, Friday, July 11, at Bantry Library, marking the beginning of a vibrant, week-long celebration of writing and reading.

With a rich and diverse programme of events taking place across Bantry, the festival draws both national and international literary talent. Set against the scenic backdrop of West Cork, the festival offers readings, workshops, panel discussions, and special events for readers and writers of all ages and interests.

Together with its sister festivals — the West Cork Chamber Music Festival and Masters of Tradition — the literary festival plays a significant role in the region’s cultural and economic life, contributing close to €5 million annually to the local economy.

Festival-goers can look forward to an inspiring week of literature in one of Ireland’s most picturesque towns.
