Only a few weeks now to the annual John Rustard 5km (or 5000 metres for anyone watching the Olympics in Paris). We hope the training is going well and the old pair of runners have been dusted off in preparation for this years event which will take place on Sat August 24th. The event has proven very popular with both young and old and runners/walkers of all standards in the past. So if you're hoping to get a Personal Best....or fancy a leisurely stroll, its entirely up to you. The run will get underway at 12.00 with registrations taking place between 7 and 8 on the Friday prior to the event, or from 10am on race day.. Johns two sporting passions in life were running and the GAA, so what better way to remember John, than by running, jogging or walking the 5km route and raising some money for the club at the same time. John was also an officer in the Inishowen GAA Board and we would urge as many clubs as possible to come and support the run in John’s memory.
