Valkenburg is a charming Dutch town that feels like a fairytale come to life—especially if you love castles, caves, and cozy streets lined with cafés and boutiques. There is plenty to see and do in Valkenburg, from visiting the castle ruins to an underground adventure in the Fluweelengrot or Gemeentegrot or for the more adventurous visitors, a cycle up the Cauberg.
Every year, it plays a starring role in the Amsel Gold Race, the Netherlands' premier one-day road cycling event.
