𝗨𝗻𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗜𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 🇮🇪
My mum sent me this earlier and, honestly, I got a bit excited🥺🥺, Partly because opportunities like this are incredibly rare in Ireland, but also because of who it is!!!!!
Mia Rodley is someone I’ve followed for a while. What interests me isn’t the bridleless riding itself, it’s the training behind it. Horses don’t just wake up one morning and perform at liberty or go bridleless because someone decided it would look impressive. There are years of education, consistency, trust and communication behind it. That’s the bit I find fascinating.
What also deserves recognition is Knightfield Stud for exploring the possibility of bringing something like this to Ireland. It would be very easy to stick to the same format of clinics we see year after year, but opening the door to different ideas and different approaches can only benefit horse people.
I’d be more than happy to put my name down if it goes ahead. God willing, if Dory is ready by then, I’d love the opportunity to ride in something like this. Not because I have ambitions of throwing away the bridle, but because I think there is a huge amount to learn from the process that gets a horse to that point.
So if this is something you’d like to see happen, give it some support. Share it, comment on it, tag a friend, let the venue know there’s interest. If we want more opportunities like this in Ireland, we need to support the people willing to bring them here.
And if my mum is sending me clinic adverts before I’ve even had my evening tea, she clearly knew this one would catch my attention. 🐴🇮🇪
