Introducing the newest exhibition at Creative Places Tipperary Town - Minimal Spaces by local digital artist Alan Manning! ππ¨βπ¨
Minimal Spaces is about visual storytelling that uses simple geometry to create narratives. Each piece begins with a basic concept: some words, shapes, a single colour. When paired with other elements, they become enough to suggest something more ππ¨
Typography plays a big role. Words fall like rain, faces are formed from scattered letters, and words are layered over one another to give new meaning. Colour is used more like a symbol than decoration. White becomes a rabbit, blue suggests water, and simple coloured shapes are combined to depict entire seasons ββ
The works explore how we read into things and process information, and how our minds can fill in what isnβt there. Minimal Spaces brings together pieces that explore these ideas, by using clean design and subtle visual cues to invite people to pause, examine, and maybe connect with something of their own π»πΏ
About the Artist:
Alan is a digital artist and website designer from Tipperary Town. His artistic focus is on typography, layout, grids, collage, and minimalism. He uses basic shapes to build patterns and objects to create quiet, simple narratives. He is interested in how much can be said with very little - how typography, forms, and colour can be combined to hint at something greater ππ
A special thanks to everyone at Fitzpatrick Printers for printing the work in this exhibition β¨π
