Youth Work Ireland Tipperary & Tipperary Town Revitalisation with funding from the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth (via the What Works 2023 programme) delivered a one-year research study on children and family services in Tipperary Town.
The study was carried out by TASC and guided by a research committee made up of Youth Work Ireland Tipperary, Tipperary Town Revitalisation, TASC and Tusla, with input from children, young people, families, and local service providers.
Key findings:
Major gaps in services for children/families in the area.
Key shortages include:
Mental health & addiction supports,
Childcare facilities
Disability support
Transport links
Long waiting lists across all services
Tipperary Town Revitalisation and all it's stakeholders are continuing it's efforts to strengthen resourcing for recommendations identified in service provision in this research study, while also identifying other service provision opportunities. This research study will help support applications for key social inclusion projects and developments in Tipperary Town.
