My Kerry continues to bring us on a journey through the people, places and traditions that connect us to this incredible part of the world.

In East Kerry, DB O’Connor has found ways to bring his love of local heritage, folklore and Celtic traditions to life. Alongside a friend, he created Killarney Pumpkin Farm, bringing seasonal celebrations to life through the stories and traditions that surround Halloween.

Then, in 2020, Donald began thinking about another way to share his passion for Kerry: creating glamping pods that allow visitors to connect with the surrounding landscape, its history and the stories held within it: Nádúr Pods.

With his experience as a tour guide and his deep interest in the ancient landscape of East Kerry, Donald has plenty of stories to share. His journey shows how a love of a place and its past can inspire new experiences, while keeping its traditions alive for others to discover.

In our series, we meet Aileen Crean O’Brien of Tom Crean Brewery, whose love of Kerry’s landscapes, nature and walking is part of her connection to this place. As the granddaughter of Antarctic explorer Tom Crean, she also carries a remarkable family legacy, bringing her own story to life through her journey into brewing.

From the inspiration of the natural world to the stories that connect us to our roots, Kerry continues to shape the people and passions that call it home.
