Congratulations to Radio Kerry !

A huge congratulations to Radio Kerry on an outstanding result at the 2026 IMRO Radio Awards, taking home an incredible 10 awards โ€“ 3 Gold, 5 Silver and 2 Bronze. ๐Ÿ‘

The awards recognise the stationโ€™s work across programming, news, sport, music, community initiatives, promotions and digital innovation.

Among the Gold awards were Words Matter, created by students of the Radio Kerry/Kerry College Journalism, Podcasting & Radio course, Kaya Flynnโ€™s Travels Through a Kingdom: Forever19, and Niamh Dalyโ€™s Many Voices, One Kingdom.

The recognition is a fantastic reflection of the creativity, commitment and quality of local broadcasting being produced in Kerry.

Kerry Budget Briefing Breakfast

Tralee Chamber was delighted to support the Kerry Budget Briefing Breakfast, delivered by Kerry Local Enterprise Office in association with PSC Accountants, at The Rose Hotel this morning.

The briefing provided local businesses with an opportunity to hear more about Budget 2027, explore key measures and consider what the announcements mean for businesses and the wider Kerry economy.

It was a valuable morning of insight, discussion and connection for the local business community.

Tralee is set to come alive with the National Circus Festival of Ireland, taking place from 5โ€“8 November 2026.

The four-day festival brings an exciting mix of world-class circus, performances, workshops, family entertainment and more to the town. Highlights include the Circus Siamsa shows, childrenโ€™s circus workshops, live performances, a parade and fireworks.

Itโ€™s a fantastic celebration of circus and creativity for audiences of all ages, and another great event bringing visitors and activity to Tralee.

Congratulations to Di**le Sea Safari!

A huge congratulations to Di**le Sea Safari, named the 2026 winner of the Working Together Business Supports initiative from CSG and Radio Kerry, securing a business support package worth โ‚ฌ3,000.

The family-run business was one of six Kerry finalists who took part in the live Grand Final at CSG in Tralee, broadcast on Radio Kerryโ€™s Kerry Today with Jerry Oโ€™Sullivan.

The prize includes professional business support from CSG and advertising with Radio Kerry, helping Di**le Sea Safari plan for the future and promote its boat tours to audiences across Kerry.

Best of luck to Louis Byrne of Byrnes SPAR Oakpark and Caherslee and his son Greg (24), who take on the Chicago Marathon this Sunday, 11 October, raising funds for the National Breast Cancer Research Institute (NBCRI).

For Louis, it follows his Berlin Marathon, while Chicago will be Gregโ€™s first marathon, making it a special father-and-son challenge.

Following the announcement of Budget 2027, Tralee Chamber CEO Colette Oโ€™Connor joined Deirdre Walshโ€™s Talkabout Show on Radio Kerry to share her reaction and discuss what the Budget means for businesses across Kerry.

While there are some welcome measures around business energy supports, fuel costs and elements of housing and hospitality, Colette highlighted the ongoing pressures facing local businesses.

โ€œThe biggest concern for Kerry businesses remains the cumulative cost of doing business, and particularly the cost of employment. Our pre-Budget survey showed that wages and labour costs were the single greatest pressure facing local firms, and with further increases now coming, we had hoped to see stronger measures to help offset that burden for SMEs.''

Colette also called for greater clarity on what Budget 2027 will deliver for Kerry, particularly around housing, grid capacity, transport, water and wastewater infrastructure, town-centre regeneration and skills.

As Kerry continues to play an important role in Irelandโ€™s energy future, she stressed the importance of ensuring national investment translates into local jobs, procurement opportunities and stronger communities.

The real test now will be delivery - what reaches Kerry, how quickly, and whether it genuinely improves competitiveness for local businesses.

A strong start to the day at the inaugural Cantillon Quarter Business Breakfast in Ballygarry Estate, Hotel and Spa.

This morningโ€™s discussion, โ€œUnder the Sea Line, Above the Sea Lineโ€, explored the full supply-chain opportunities that offshore renewable energy can create for Kerry and the wider region.

An important conversation around how local businesses, skills and communities can position themselves to benefit from this growing sector, with valuable insights from industry, academia and policy.

Well done to Kerry County Council and Munster Technological University on bringing together such a strong mix of speakers and stakeholders.

Tralee Chamber CEO Colette Oโ€™Connor was delighted to attend and continue the conversation around ensuring Kerry businesses are part of the opportunities ahead.
