Bermingham Hunt

Bermingham Hunt A mounted, local, drag hunt with hounds.

26/12/2013

Good afternoon everyone. We hope that you all had a lovely Christmas. Unfortunately the weather over the past few days and the storm rolling in this evening has gotten the better of us. The country we were to hunt is absolutely sodden with flooding etc. We always ensure that the saftey of the riders and the minimising of damage to land that we hunt is paramount to us. It is sad that we must postpone the meet tomorrow and reschedule it for a day very soon, when this weather eventually and hopefully settles down. We hope that this does not cause too much disappointment but we feel it is the best course of action, and the safest. Make sure to batten down the hatches and stay safe and warm over the coming days.

Morning everyone. Just want to update all. The meet at Bermingham House this week is looking more and more unlikely with the terrible weather that we have been/ are having and what is forecast in the coming days. The country is badly saturated with a lot of wind damage in places. We must respect the wishes of the local landowners, as without them we would not be able to hunt at any time and we also want to ensure, as always the safety of our riders. We will keep you updated over tomorrow and make a final judgement call on St. Stephens morning. As it stands at the moment, it does look highly unlikely that the hunt will take place this Friday and will be rescheduled. We wish you and all yours a very Happy and Peaceful Christmas.

Hope your horses are fit! Just back from Ballinastack checking the country for tomorrow, and there are some fine walls to be taken on! Should be a good day! Gills Bar, Ballinastack, 12 Noon Tomorrow!

Hello Everyone. Well after last weeks little hiccup, I am glad to say we are back in full swing. This Sunday we will be meeting at Gill's Pub, Ballinastack, at 12 noon. Hope to see you all there.

Apologies all, I have just realised that the post I put up last night did not post, the WiFi where I was was a little dodgy. Unfortunately Eamon is laid up this weekend after putting his back out, so we will not be hunting tomorrow. Fingers crossed we will be back in full action next Sunday. We would like to apologize for any inconvenience this causes. Sorry again. See you next weekend.

Morning Everyone, Tomorrow's meet is, as per usual at 12 Noon, at Tierneys Pub, Foxhall. As a side note, the bar does not open, so, bring a stirrup cup if you think you will be cold ;-) See you tomorrow

Well it just remains to be said, a huge thank you to Fahys Bar in Barnadearg for the amazing hospitality we received today. A huge thanks goes to all the farmers in the area who allowed us cross their land, and to the people who came riding, and followed. Thank you all for your support and we look forward to seeing you next week. Thankfully we made it home before the rain!!! Photos to follow!!

Well, we were blessed with a beautiful day in Tuam yesterday for our opening meet. We would like to take this chance to sincerely thank all of the local farmers who allowed us to cross their land yesterday. It was lovely to see the amount of support that we have and we really are extremely grateful to everyone who has supported us and came to the meet yesterday and of course to those who rode out. A big thank you must also go to Noel and Spencer who gave us a few days of their time and were happy to help with fences, making hot whiskies and sandwiches and anything that was asked of them. Thank you very much. Hopefully things will go from strength to strength with all of the support. We look forward to seeing you all again next Sunday.
