More Sunshine on the way 💛 🤩
🌡️ITS HOTTING UP NEXT WEEK AS SUN RETURNS
👨💻2025 THE WARMEST SRING ON RECORD SO FAR
☀️GLOBAL TEMPERATURES STILL ABOVE 1.5 DEGREES
There’s plenty going on in the world of weather and climate at the moment, with some domestic weather news to the fore over the last few days. That news of course being that we’re likely to see a return to warmer conditions next week with temperatures in some parts reaching up into the low 20’s.
Why is it hitting up? Well a deep area of low pressure to our southwest pulls up the jet stream to the north of Ireland allowing for high pressure to build to our east and later to our northeast, allowing for very warm air to waft its way northwards from Iberia. This warmer weather could last for most of next week.
But overall this year it’s been a very warm spring to date, and if we look over the long term averages it’s actually been the warmest spring to date on record. This is perhaps unsurprising with very dry and sunny conditions through much of April and to a lesser extent but still above average in March also.
Finally recent publications by renowned climate scientist James Hansen reveal that globally our temperatures are still between 1.6 to 1.7 degrees Celsius above the long term average, that’s now despite the absence of El Niño conditions. This marks a watershed moment for the rise of global temps.
I’ll have a video forecast online this evening and will get everyone whose messages in about joining our newsletter and weekly forecasts all signed up over the next day or so, with our April newsletter coming up early next week along with our weekly weather forecast on Sunday morning.
