✨ Weekend Family Getaway in Wicklow ✨
We’ve just returned from the most amazing extended family trip — 19 of us in total — and I had to share because this part of Wicklow is an absolute GEM. 💚

We stayed at Birch Valley Accommodation, just outside the village of Tinnahealy. It’s made up of three beautiful self-catering cottages side-by-side, which worked perfectly for our big crew. The cottages were **spotless, warm, cosy, and had everything we needed** for a comfortable stay.

And I have to give a special shoutout to **Betty, our fabulous host**. From local recommendations to the thoughtful touches, she went above and beyond. We arrived to a **stove fire already lit**, and she even surprised us with a **birthday card and flowers** for one of our family members. 🥰 It’s those little moments that make a trip unforgettable.

🌲 **Beyond the Trees Avondale – Treetop Night Walk**
On our first evening, we visited *Beyond the Trees Avondale* for their **Treetop Night Walk** — and WOW. If you haven’t done this yet, add it to your list! Walking high above the forest, surrounded by magical lighting and gentle soundscapes, felt like stepping into a fairy-tale. The views were unreal, and it was an experience that every single one of us loved.

⛸️ **Ice Skating Fun**
We loved it so much we went back the next day for **ice skating**, which added the perfect festive touch and kept everyone smiling.

🍽️ **Dinner at Parkview House, Shillelagh**
We wrapped up day two with dinner at **Parkview House** in Shillelagh. Their recently renovated lounge is gorgeous — warm, stylish, and so welcoming. The menu had something for everyone, the staff were fantastic, and the service was unbelievably quick for a group of 19. And the value? Exceptional! Highly recommend. 👏

🎅 We ended our night with the **Santa Train Experience in Rathwood** (review posted separately!), which was the perfect way to finish off a magical weekend.

🌟 **If you’re planning a family break, Wicklow should definitely be on your radar.** Beautiful scenery, brilliant activities, warm hospitality — we loved every minute.
