אוקטובר 73' - אוקטובר 23'
הייתי בהשתלמות לרגל 50 שנה למלחמת יום הכיפורים בתל א-סאקי.
לא העליתי בדעתי שאחזור לשם כעבור שנתיים של מלחמה שבה שוב הפתיעו אותנו ושוב שילמנו מחיר דמים כבד כל כך.
"רבותי ההיסטוריה חוזרת" אבל לפעמים הלוואי ולא תחזור!

October 73 - October 23
I was at a training course on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Yom Kippur War in Tel a-Saki.
I never imagined that I would return there after two years of a war in which we were again surprised and again paid such a heavy price in blood.
"Gentlemen, history repeats itself" but sometimes I wish it wouldn't!

"עכשיו תורי"
יותר משנה וחצי של מלחמה.
התנדבתי, שמרתי, תרמתי, עודדתי מקרוב ומרחוק אבל עכשיו, אחרי שהראל שלי סיים טירונות נח"ל, הגיע התור שלי להיות אבא לבן שנמצא בלחימה בעזה עם כל האתגרים שמתלווים לכך. אני דואג אבל לא בחרדה. סומך עליו וסומך על המפקדים שלו ומתפלל שהקב"ה יחזיר אותו, את החברים שלו, את כל החיילים וכל החטופים כולם בשלום ובמהרה ומתפלל שהקב"ה ייתן בלב מנהיגנו את התבונה והעוז להוביל אותנו בדרך הנכונה.
אמן!
"Now it’s my turn."
More than a year and a half of war.
I volunteered, stood guard, donated, encouraged—both up close and from afar.
But now, after my Harel finished his basic training in the Nahal Brigade, it’s my turn to be a father to a son fighting in Gaza, with all the challenges that come with it.
I worry, but I’m not overwhelmed with fear. I trust him, I trust his commanders, and I pray that God will bring him back safely, along with his friends, all the soldiers, and all the hostages—soon and in peace.
And I pray that God will place wisdom and courage in the hearts of our leaders, to lead us on the right path.
Amen.
