Tel Yavne – Why did Rabban Yochanan ben Zakkai choose Yavne?
Following the destruction of the Second Temple, Rabban Yochanan ben Zakkai made one of the most consequential decisions in Jewish history: he established the new centre of Jewish learning in Yavne.
But why Yavne?
Recent archaeological discoveries are beginning to shed fascinating new light on the city's Hellenistic and early Roman past, revealing a far more significant Greek-influenced town than many ever imagined.
I can't reveal any more just yet, as these remarkable finds have not yet been officially published. 🤫

Every day was filled with history, faith, breathtaking landscapes, and unforgettable moments.
