David and Chana Walles have personally hosted cruises, tours, and holiday programs around the world, building relationships with guests who return year after year — often traveling with children and grandchildren of their own.

Today, the next generation is involved as well, with their children helping continue that hands-on, family approach that guests have come to know and appreciate.

🎭 One thing first-time cruisers are often surprised by? How much there is to DO onboard.

Modern cruise ships are like floating resorts with live shows, music, lounges, spas, pools, fitness centers, games, shopping, cafes, themed parties, walking decks, lectures, kids activities, teen hangouts, and spaces to simply relax and enjoy the view.

Some evenings might include Broadway-style performances, comedy, ballroom dancing, live bands, dueling pianos, or themed entertainment late into the night. During the day, guests might enjoy trivia, cooking demos, pickleball, water parks, climbing walls, art auctions, spa treatments, or sunset cocktails overlooking the ocean.

And on our cruises, we add our own Jewish atmosphere and programming throughout the journey — shiurim, hosted gatherings, glatt mehadrin dining, Shabbat experiences, and the feeling of traveling together with like-minded guests from around the world.

🚢 Thinking about booking a cruise this summer, but not sure what it’s actually like onboard?

A few common questions we hear from first-time cruisers:

❓ “Is there enough to do on the ship?”
More than enough 😊 Cruise ships have full daily schedules including live music, shows, lectures, lounges, fitness centers, spas, games, excursions, pools, cafes, shopping, and more. On our cruises, we also add Jewish programming, shiurim, social gatherings, hosted activities, Shabbat experiences, and glatt kosher dining throughout the journey.

❓ “Do I have to be busy all day?”
Not at all. Some guests fill every hour. Others enjoy sitting on deck with coffee and a view. That balance is part of what people love most about cruising.

❓ “Are we at sea the whole time?”
Not at all. Most itineraries include exciting destinations and excursions almost every day, so you get to experience multiple countries and cities while only unpacking once.

❓ “What’s the kosher food actually like?”
For some cruisers, eating is the best part of cruising 😊. We provide full glatt mehadrin kosher dining throughout the cruise, including hot sit-down breakfasts, lunches, multi-course dinners, Shabbat meals, and attentive staff who remember your preferences along the way.

❓ “Will I feel seasick?”
Most guests are surprised by how smooth modern cruise ships feel, especially on larger ships with stabilizers. And of course, there are simple remedies available if needed.

❓ “Are cruises good for families?”
Very much so. Many cruises include children’s and teen programming, family-friendly excursions, and activities for multiple generations traveling together. At the same time, there are also plenty of adult spaces and quiet areas for couples, friends, and guests looking for a more relaxed pace.

❓ “What’s the atmosphere like?”
One of the most special parts is the feeling of traveling together with like-minded guests from around the world — whether during meals, excursions, Shabbat, or just relaxing onboard.
