The Holy Land is filled with places that connect us to the people, history, and events we've encountered in Scripture.

And sometimes, standing among these ancient stones is an invitation to pause, reflect, and see the story in a new light.

Day 8 was a memorable day for me on our Footsteps of Paul tour. We visited the ancient ruins of Ephesus, where many New Testament events took place, including the seven sons of Sceva that tried to imitate Paul's spiritual authority of driving out demons, and were attacked by demons themselves.

The day ended in Patmos, at the presumed cave, where apostle John received prophetic visions that make up the book of Revelations. My dad had a special moment when he visited here many years ago, and I'll share the moment in another post later.

Definitely a bucket list location! 👏🏻

In the hills overlooking the Sea of Galilee lies Korazim, an ancient village connected to the ministry of Jesus.

Here, Scripture isn't just something you read.

You can walk through the places where the story unfolded.

This is the experience of visiting the Holy Land, seeing the landscape, standing among the ruins, and imagining the world behind the words of the Bible.

October 7, 2023.

⁠Three years later, the heavy sorrow of that day remains, and we continue to hold the families, the nation, and all those carrying its enduring weight in our prayers.

Yet, even in the darkest valleys, we look to the promises etched into this land. Scripture reminds us that God has not forgotten His people, and His eyes are continually upon the Land of Israel.

Today, we pause to mourn, to remember, and to anchor our hope in the ultimate promise of His peace -

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: 'May those who love you be secure.'”
(Psalm 122:6)
