How can I sum up a 9 day trip to Poland for guides. I can't really. I can say it was an incredibly meaningful forray into our past and roots in Poland , but as a platform to learn and appreciate and think about its impact on our story and our future.
The experience was uplifting and inspiring and I am immensely grateful Alan Goldman Tzvi Sperber Zak jeffay mordechai Cohen of and the companions on my journey, each one unique , bringing his/her own distinctive light and voice.

Savoring January...
January in the Golan is the coldest. The month when the mud stays wet and the stones stay wet and we have barely seen any wildflowers on the trails. I cherish every second of it: before the blossoms and the buds, with an ever changing sky, because when February sweeps in, spring comes along too.

At the edge of the fertile Jezreel Valley
We did something very special
We released a homing pigeon from Kfar Kedem
She flew into the sky
Right past Alexander Zayid on his bronze horse
And brought our message home.

Thank you for this awesome experience

Look at the difference 20 minutes make. First picture is facing west at sunset. Second picture is facing north 20 minutes after.

All Golan regional leaders (Golan Regional Council, Katzrin, Majdal Shams, Buqata, Masa'de, Ein Qinnya)— in a joint statement following the UN General Assembly resolution calling on Israel to withdraw from the Golan Heights:

"The UN General Assembly has once again passed its routine annual vote — an automatic gesture, initiated by Arab states and detached from reality.

Across the border, al-Julani is carrying out brutal massacres against his own people — including our Druze brothers and sisters in southern Syria. Yet instead of condemning these atrocities, some choose to target a region that has been under Israeli sovereignty longer than it was ever under Syrian rule. *This inversion of morality is nothing short of outrageous.*

The Golan is not a line in a vote but an ancient homeland, with clear Jewish heritage across generations. And today — in absolute contrast to the violence in Syria — *Jews and Druze here live in true partnership, building a shared and stable future.*

The Golan was and will remain Israeli — because of the people who live here, its history, and the future we are creating together. No ceremonial resolution will change that.

We will continue to strengthen and develop the Golan — our unique and irreplaceable home."

I'm amazed by how many outlets picked up this story!

I'm amazed by how many outlets picked up this story!

A 1,500-year-old synagogue, whose location was previously unknown, has been uncovered in an archaeological excavation within the Yehudiya Nature Reserve in the Golan Heights. The discovery was announced on Sunday morning following an excavation led by the Nature and Parks Authority and the University of Haifa.

The historic site, which dates back to the Roman and Byzantine periods (1st century BCE to 7th–8th centuries CE), was confirmed by the recovery of dozens of decorated architectural items, lintels, and basalt columns.

Well, the question of identifying this edifice is now answered. Looking forward to keep digging away at it.
