It was a delightful experience introducing my colleagues at the Israel Camerata to some of my beloved spots in Israel.

We journeyed back in time to the era of King David at Khirbet Queyafa in the valley of Elah. The exquisite wine and cheese at Hadar Winery delighted our senses. The captivating art and picturesque scenery at Beit Jamal filled us with inspiration.

The Corinthian column capital is a familiar sight across classical architecture, spanning from ancient temples to 19th-century opera houses. Its elegant design is derived from the Acanthus, a wild plant native to the Middle East.

During a casual hike through the woods, I had the pleasure of encountering the Acanthus in its natural habitat. And here they ate, side by side—the Corinthian column and the graceful Acanthus plant.

Star of Bethlehem - Finally made it to Bethlehem for the first time in 2023, despite spending most of my childhood just a stone's throw away. The Grotto of Nativity holds the silver star, marking the hallowed ground where Jesus Christ was born. It's an awe-inspiring and sacred space nestled within the historic Nativity Basilica, one of Christianity's oldest churches.

Unfortunately, recent events have led to restrictions on access to Bethlehem. Christmas in Israel feels more subdued this year. Yet, amidst this, the only 'Star of Bethlehem' we can currently witness is the breathtaking white flower that shares its name.

My heart yearns for more peaceful times. Let's hope for brighter days ahead and may every star shine amidst this darkness. Merry Christmas!✨
