Warsaw was rebuilt from almost nothing. Even the Mermaid, the city’s ancient guardian, had to be restored. Walking these streets, you feel the layers beneath the surface.

There are few moments in life as moving and emotional as a Bar or Bat Mitzvah. Now imagine four celebrations at once, beneath the Aron Kodesh (אָרוֹן קוֹדֶשׁ, “Holy Ark”) of the historic Libertad Synagogue in Buenos Aires.

Temple Kol Ami of Scottsdale, led by Rabbi Jeremy Schneider, created something their community will carry with them for a lifetime.

Some doors hold more history than entire museums.

Tucked away in a courtyard on the Buda side of Budapest, the Frankel Leó Street Synagogue has stood since 1888. Its adjacent apartment building constructed later, in 1928, wrapping around it as the community grew. Still active. Still holding its ground.

This is what we travel for.
