We Welcome His Holiness Pope Leo XIV

Today marks a moment of great significance for the Catholic Church and the global community. We joyfully welcome Pope Leo XIV as the newly elected Bishop of Rome and successor to Saint Peter.

As he begins his papal ministry, we pray for strength, wisdom, and peace to accompany him in his leadership. Pope Leo XIV brings with him a spirit of compassion, unity, and faith—qualities much needed in today’s world.

Let us join together in prayer and solidarity as the Church enters this new chapter under his guidance.

“Feed my sheep.” – John 21:17
Ad multos annos, Pope Leo XIV.

it's passover time, and if you happen to visit Israel in this period it's really recomanded to ascened to Jerusalem as the Jews are doing for thousands of years.

The Western Wall (Kotel) – The Holiest Site in Judaism
No visit to Jerusalem is complete without spending time at the Western Wall, also known as the Kotel. This ancient wall is the last remaining structure of the Second Temple and serves as the holiest site in Judaism for prayer and reflection. During Passover, the Kotel takes on even more significance as thousands of Jews gather to offer prayers for freedom, deliverance, and renewal.

Passover Prayers at the Kotel: On Passover, special prayers are recited, including the Hallel (Psalms of praise) and the Vidui (confession). Many Jews come to the Kotel to participate in these prayers, as well as to recite the Shehechiyanu blessing, thanking God for allowing them to reach the holiday.

The Birkat Kohanim (Priestly Blessing): If you’re lucky enough to be in Jerusalem on the morning of Passover, you may witness the Birkat Kohanim at the Western Wall. This ancient priestly blessing, performed by Kohanim (descendants of the priests), is a powerful and moving moment that fills the air with spiritual energy.

Tefillin at the Wall: During Passover, many men (and some women) come to the Kotel early in the morning to wrap themselves in tefillin (phylacteries), following the Torah's commandment to bind the words of God on their arm and forehead.

Acre - A City of Crusader History
Acre, also known as Akko, is a coastal city with a rich tapestry of history and culture. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site, Acre's Old City is a fascinating blend of Crusader, Ottoman, and Arab influences. Visitors can wander through its narrow alleys, discovering ancient fortresses, mosques, and bustling markets. The city's most iconic landmark, the Hospitaller Fortress, offers a glimpse into its Crusader past, with its impressive halls and underground tunnels. The Al-Jazzar Mosque, one of the largest in Israel, showcases stunning Ottoman architecture and intricate decorations. Acre's vibrant port, with its colorful fishing boats and seafood restaurants, is a lively hub of activity. Visitors can enjoy fresh seafood dishes while taking in views of the Mediterranean Sea. Acre's cultural diversity is reflected in its culinary scene, offering a fusion of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean flavors. The city's annual festivals, such as the Acre Festival of Alternative Theater, celebrate its artistic spirit and multicultural heritage.
