This graffiti says, "I'm not an only child because all of Am Yisrael are my brothers". Never have truer words been written! Like any family, we argue, frequently passionately! Before October 7 some members of the family weren't speaking with others, or were only shouting. But over the last nine months we've all taken a deep breath, looked inside, and remembered that we're family, even if we still don't always see eye to eye.

What is Israeli food?
This seemingly simple question guides us along our food tours. But there's really only one food that is 100% native Israeli: sabich! Based on the foods Iraqi Jews would eat cold on Shabbat (when Jewish tradition forbids cooking), sabich typically consists of eggplant, hard boiled egg, tahini, amba (a sauce made of fermented unripened mangoes) and a variety of fresh vegetables all stuffed in a pita.
