Hi friends
In Israel we are now celebrating shavuot. One of the 3 pilgrimages, the day the Tora was given to the people of israel, and since ancient times, also an agricultural holiday, when the wheat is ripe for harvesting.
In early zionism the holiday became very agricultural.
As you can see in the photos. With the family line of my mother in law, from the Ben Gurion family, my wife who was born in Kibbutz Beit Hash*ta, and my daughter.
In the background, is mount Gilboa, where the first king of Israel Saul and his son Jonathan were killed by the Philistines.
Imagine sickles instead of Combine and tractors, and we are back in bible times.
