Three years. The calendar moves forward, but the memory of October 7th remains permanently etched into the heart of our nation.

Today, we pause. We remember the beautiful lives lost, we hold fiercely onto hope for those who are still missing, and we honor the unimaginable courage of the families and communities who have spent the last three years rebuilding from the ashes.

To our international partners, ministry leaders, and travel professionals who have brought solidarity missions, continued to send groups, and stood steadfastly by our side: your presence has been more than just business. It has been a testament to true friendship. You showed us that we do not walk this path alone.

We will never forget. But we will also never stop living, building, and keeping the doors of the Holy Land open to the world.

In Jewish tradition, when we reach the very last sentence of the Torah on Simchat Torah, we don't close the book and pack it away. We immediately roll the scroll all the way back to Genesis and start reading from the beginning.

It is the ultimate symbol of resilience.

This week, the landscape of Israel transforms. From balconies in Jerusalem to gardens in Tel Aviv, thousands of Sukkahs (temporary dwellings) are being built.

Sukkot is one of the most beautiful and joyous times in the Holy Land. It reminds us that true security doesn’t come from thick stone walls, but from faith, community, and the spirit that unites us.

At its core, Sukkot is the holiday of hospitality (the tradition of Ushpizin). It teaches us to open our doors, share what we have, and welcome guests with a full heart. For us at ORTRA, hospitality isn’t just a tradition, it’s our calling.

As we sit in the Sukkah this year, our deepest prayer is for the Sukkat Shalom (a shelter of peace) to be spread over Israel and the entire world.
