Dear friends,
As a new year begins, I would like to send you warm greetings filled with hope, renewal, and confidence in better days ahead.
The past year has been one of the most challenging in Israel’s history. We faced a multi-front war: Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah in Lebanon, Palestinian terror in Judea and Samaria, threats from Yemen, Syria, and Iraq — with Iran as the main force driving and encouraging much of this aggression. The brutal events of October 7th, when about 1,200 innocent civilians were murdered and many others abducted, shocked us deeply and left a lasting wound.
Alongside the military conflict, another front became painfully visible: a sharp rise in antisemitism and hatred toward Israel worldwide — on university campuses, in cultural and musical arenas, in mass demonstrations calling for Israel’s destruction, and in violent attacks against innocent Jews.
With the support and mediation of the United States, a ceasefire agreement was achieved. Many hostages returned home — some alive, others, tragically, murdered in captivity. Today, the security situation in Israel has significantly improved, and daily life is steadily returning.
This is the time to plan again and rediscover Israel: eternal Jerusalem, Masada and the Dead Sea, the peaceful Sea of Galilee, and vibrant Tel Aviv along the Mediterranean coast.

ב־*16:00* נבקר בקבר רבי שמעון בר יוחאי 🕎 – אתר עלייה לרגל בעל שם עולמי, הנחשב סגולה לברכה ולאושר, ומקום שמעניק השראה רוחנית עמוקה. ✡️

ב־*17:00 נרד לצפת – עיר הקבלה והמסתורין 🧿. נטייל יחד בין הסמטאות הציוריות, בתי הכנסת העתיקים והגלריות 🕍.

🚰 Streams of Time – The Aqueduct to Akko

📍 We are standing in the open-air amphitheater of Kibbutz Lohamei HaGetaot, looking east toward the impressive aqueduct just south of the kibbutz.

🏛 This section belongs to the Ottoman aqueduct, built in 1815 CE by the ruler of Akko, Sulayman Pasha, to carry water from the Kabri springs to the city of Akko – then a major port and regional center.

⭐ This is the tallest, most complete and impressive of three historical aqueducts that once supplied water to Akko. It was preceded by the Jezzar Pasha Aqueduct (late 18th century) and a Hellenistic aqueduct, both of which partially survive and can still be seen in the area.

👁 Look closely at the aqueduct – its exposed stone arches, the varied masonry, and the surrounding farmland. Additional segments of older aqueducts can be found across the kibbutz fields.

📖 This water system demonstrates the Ottomans' engineering skill in dealing with distance, elevation, and water preservation, reflecting Akko's high reliance on external water sources.

🚗 Travelers heading north on Road 4 toward Nahariya can’t miss the elegant arches – a striking historical landmark along the way.

📍 Timna Park – Hathor Temple: Mining, Worship, and Pharaohs in the Desert

We are standing before the remains of an ancient Egyptian temple beneath Solomon’s Pillars. This is a partially carved sandstone shrine dedicated to Hathor – goddess of love, music, and protector of copper miners. 🎶⛏️
The temple was built during the reign of Seti I and renovated under Ramesses II. Archaeologists uncovered a sacred rock, fire pits, offering vessels, and faience figurines. 🐍🔥
No complete hieroglyphic inscriptions with royal cartouches were found, but Egyptian symbols and an engraved image of Hathor appear on site. There are initial reports of a copper snake figurine, though this find remains uncertain.
The temple was abandoned with the Egyptian retreat at the end of the Late Bronze Age and was partially reconstructed in the 1960s. 🏺🗿
This site reveals Egypt’s deep presence in the desert, blending industry with religion, and shaping the ancient story of the Land of Israel. 🌄⚱️🇪🇬
