We are deeply saddened to learn about the tragic plane crash of Air India Flight AI 171, which occurred shortly after take-off from Ahmedabad en route to Gatwick. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives in this heartbreaking incident. May the departed souls rest in eternal peace, and may their families find strength and courage during this unimaginably difficult time.

We also extend our sincere prayers and best wishes for the speedy recovery of all those who sustained injuries. May they regain their health soon and be reunited with their loved ones.

ENDEMIC BIRD DAY
The Indian pied myna is a species of starling found in the Indian subcontinent. It is usually found in small groups mainly on the plains and low foothills. It is often seen within cities and villages although it is not as bold as the common myna. It produces a range of calls made up of liquid notes.

On this day, 14 October, 1643, the 7th Mughal Emperor, Muhammad M'uazzam or Shah Alam I, also called Bahadur Shah I, was born in Burhanpur, Madhya Pradesh (central India).

M'uazzam was the only Mughal Emperor to have the title Sayyad, used by descendants of the Prophet Muhammad. After his death, contemporary historians began calling him "Khuld-Manzil" (Departed to Paradise).
