When we visit cities, we often try to tick places off a list.

But some places aren’t meant to be ticked —
they’re meant to be felt.

This is one of my favourite hidden corners of Agra.
A quiet spot where I come to slow down, sip evening chai, and watch the Taj change colours with the sky.

I’d love to invite you here.
Come spend an evening with us — meet the locals, see how life unfolds around the Taj, taste what the community eats, and experience the city beyond the crowds.

No rush. No checklists.
Just stories, warm hospitality, and a magnificent view.

Save this reel — and come see Agra the way we do. 🤍

Today, I met a Bherupia — a professional impersonator — and it honestly made my day.

I heard a knock on the door.
“Who is it?”
No answer.

Again. Knock.
“Who is it?”
Still no answer.

By the time I opened the door, I was already annoyed… until I saw a policeman standing there with a file in his hand. For a second, my brain went: oh no, what fresh scam is this? 😅

He smiled and said, “Don’t worry… I’m not a policeman. I’m a Bherupia.”

And suddenly I was back in childhood—those market lanes where a “monkey” would jump out of nowhere, kids would scream, then laugh, and the whole street would feel like a tiny theatre.

He told me they come around 26th January every year to collect contributions. I gave him ₹100, he said, “No sir, ₹200.” 😂
Then he casually added, “We also do shows… ₹15,000–₹20,000.”

I took his number.

He’s from Indore, but keeps coming to Agra—and he even showed me his son, who’s now a professional clown.

Just one of those small, unexpected moments that remind you: a city isn’t only monuments—sometimes it’s people, stories, and a knock on the door.

Have you ever met a Bherupia in your city? 👇

Love deserves to be remembered beautifully. 🤍

We’ve partnered with some of Agra’s finest photographers to curate intimate, effortless photoshoots at the Taj Mahal—so you can focus on being present, while we take care of the rest.

Want to feel like a medieval traveler—riding through ravines, with the Taj Mahal slowly revealing itself in the distance? 🐎✨

If you’re into horse riding, this is one experience you cannot miss. We take you off the tourist trail, past majestic ruins and hidden viewpoints of the Taj, through a landscape alive with birds, flora, and quiet magic.

And then—breakfast. Cooked on firewood, milk straight from the buffalo, slow and soulful, just like it once was.

It’s wild, peaceful, timeless—and unlike anything else in Agra.

Lauren and Michelle woke up early to see the Taj Mahal—only to realize it was a Friday, and the Taj was closed.

So we made an impromptu plan and took them beyond the Taj, into parts of Agra they didn’t even know existed—and they loved it.

If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, just reach out to us. We’ll turn your Friday morning into something unforgettable. ✨

Training stories like art: behind the scenes of our walks.

At Agra Heritage Walks, we pride ourselves not on the monuments we show—but on the people who bring them alive.

Every year, we hold a 3-month Storytelling Lab where our walk leaders train with theatre artists, musicians, and performers. Together, we explore:
– How to tell stories with heart.
– How to connect history with feelings.
– How to read the room, and make every guest feel at home in our city.

This training shows in the results:
💯 Every TripAdvisor review is rated 5/5.

Because storytelling isn’t about repeating facts.
It’s about sharing memory, belonging, and connection.

🙏 Thank you to every trainer, artist, and walk leader who makes this possible.

Agra Heritage Walks

A walk through alleys & lanes of Agra which brings alive the old city through a blend of historical facts, pieces of memory, stories of natives, work of craftsmen and traditional recipes home-cooked by local women. It is an experience beyond the known monuments, in a manner that overcomes the distant, checklist way of knowing a place; bridging the gap between those looking and those looked at.
