The aurora borealis

Watch nature's own theatre unfold above you as the most spectacular light show takes centre stage: The aurora borealis / northern lights with you in the front row.

When and where to find the northern lights:

For the best chances to see the northern lights, or aurora borealis, head to Northern Norway between late autumn and early spring.
Seeing the northern lights, or the aurora borealis, as they are also known, is a jaw-dropping and mystical moment.

The lights are at their most frequent in late autumn and winter/early spring. Between the autumn equinox and spring equinox (21 September - 21 March), it is dark between 6 pm and 1 am, and you have maximum chances of spotting the lights. However, the weather is also of importance, and September, October and November tend to be wet and snowless in the north.
From December the weather dries up, and there is normally plenty of snow. If you travel in December or January, you experience the polar nights with atmospheric evenings and very short days. In February and March the days are longer and you see more of the snow-clad landscapes during daytime, and the evenings still offer maximum chances to spot the northern lights.

Namibia - The ONLY Country where Desert meets the Ocean!

The country is located on the southwest coast of Africa and is named after The Namib, a 1200-mile-long stretch of real estate where scorching desert in stunning contrast overlaps frigid sea, and water, wind, sand and sun play off each other to create a visual landscape that challenges the most versatile of photographers. The desert is home to the highest sand dunes in the world.

With migration in full swing its time to visit the Mara.

Nowhere in the world is there a movement of animals as immense as the wildebeest migration, every year, millions of wildebeest and other plains game embark on a journey, mapped by instinct that follows Africa’s seasons in search of fertile land. Over two million animals migrate from the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania to the greener pastures of the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya during July through to October.
During this period key events occur that are appealing to safari-goers, such as witnessing the thundering mass of animals, watching them cross the Mara River where the crocodiles prey on them, and the predators that accompany them.
Every year, the Mara receives an influx of foreign visitors here to witness this spectacular occasion. This is an opportunity many save up for a lifetime to come and witness: to witness the migration features in many traveler's bucket list.

What the Wildebeest migration season promises:
• An opportunity to be a spectator on the eighth wonder of the new world.
• Excitement- all the senses are aroused by being in such beautiful surroundings, breathing fresh air (before the running herds raise a dust storm), listening to the lulling sound of the wildebeest and chirpy birds, and eating a delicious picnic packed from your camp or lodge.
• Wild animals every way you look- you do not drive around desperately seeking wildlife during a game drive.
• Great wildlife photographs- you don’t even have to be an expert- just point your camera in any direction and shoot.

Staying in one of the Wanderers recommended camps puts you right in the heart of the action, closer than anyone else to its incredible sights and sounds.

Plan a date to this world wonder this season before it’s too late.
