Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception is one of the oldest Churches in Goa, this Church is located in the heart of the capital city of Panajim. The beautiful church lying on a hilltop. You need to climb up quite a few stairs to get to the church.

Originally built to welcome sailors home, the Church is over 450 years old and is beautifully preserved. The Church is used even to this very day with devout Catholics stopping by to pray en route to work.

Tourist Attractions in Goa - Aguada Fort

The Aguada Fort is located at a distance of around 18 km. from Panaji. Fort Aguada and its lighthouse is a well-preserved Portuguese bastion in Goa and was built in 1609-12, to control the entry into the river Mandovi and to protect Old Goa from potential enemy attacks.

A freshwater spring within the fort provided water supply to the ships that used to stop by. This is how the fort got its name: Aguada, meaning Water in Portuguese. Crews of passing ships would often visit to replenish their fresh water stores.

This old Portuguese fort stands on the beach south of Candolim, at the shore of the Mandovi River. It was initially tasked with the defense of shipping and the nearby Bardez sub-district.
