The area around Bhandardara Dam in Akole Taluka in AahilyaNagar District is an area that has always been an "attraction for nature trekkers". This region is rich in diversity such as mountain valleys, jungles, ghats, Fort's, Hydro reservoirs and ancient temples.
• Amruteshwar Temple
At the foothills of Ratangad and on the banks of the Amritvahini Pravara is the temple of Amriteshwar which is a wonderful example of carved sculpture. It is an ancient temple of 11th century AD. This Chalukya style temple is a beautiful example of amazing sculpture. 15 to 16 meters hight, this temple is made entirely of stone and has a length of 23 meters. And width is 12 m. Near the temple is a square-built and step-stepped Pushkarani. There are 12 temples near the tank and there are idols of Lord Vishnu like Gadadhari, Chakradhari and Sheshdhari.
